The 39th African Women Volleyball Inter-Club Championship continues to thrill fans as two powerhouse teams, CF Carthage from Tunisia and Litto VC from Cameroon, secured their spots in the quarterfinals, showcasing impressive performances in their respective Round of Sixteen matches.
CF Carthage, the two-time champions of the tournament, demonstrated their dominance with a commanding 3-0 victory over Sococim of Senegal. The Tunisian side outclassed their opponents with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 25-20, quickly establishing their intent to reclaim the title. Carthage’s effective serves and formidable blocks left Sococim struggling to keep pace throughout the match.
Meanwhile, Litto VC displayed resilience and determination in their tightly contested match against Nigeria’s Chief Naval of Staff (CNS). After a fierce battle, Litto emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 18-25, and 25-17. The match was characterised by thrilling rallies and spectacular plays, particularly from Litto’s front-line attackers who executed powerful spikes and well-coordinated defensive maneuvers.

Litto’s first set was a showcase of skill and strategy as they narrowly edged CNS 25-22. The second set saw a blend of quick attacks and solid blocks that contributed to their 25-18 win. However, CNS refused to back down and fought back in the third set, capitalizing on Litto’s momentary lapse to secure a 25-18 victory. With the match on the line in the fourth set, Litto regained their focus and executed their plays flawlessly, sealing their advancement with a 25-17 win.

The Egyptian giants, Al Ahly, also advanced to the quarterfinals after a convincing 3-0 victory against Mayo Kani Evolution of Cameroon. Al Ahly’s experienced team, the record holders of the tournament, showcased their prowess with set scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-15. Their quick ball movement and tactical defense overwhelmed the MKE side, securing their place among the top teams.

As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on the upcoming matches, with Carthage, Litto VC, and Al Ahly showcasing their quest for glory in the championship. Fans eagerly anticipate more thrilling encounters as the best of African women’s volleyball continue to battle for the prestigious title in Nigeria’s capital.
