Medic West Africa Drives $30m In Business Deals

Medic West Africa Exhibition and Conference has achieved a remarkable $30 million in business deals, solidifying its position as the leading platform for shaping the future of healthcare in the region. The event, known as the largest gathering of healthcare trade professionals in West Africa, is scheduled to make its highly-anticipated return to Lagos, Nigeria from September 26 to 28, 2023.

In its previous edition, Medic West Africa attracted 3,260 healthcare professionals from 84 countries, highlighting its significance and influence in the industry. The upcoming conferences will feature sessions presented by esteemed organizations such as the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, the Association of Nigerian Private Medical Practitioners, and the Society for Quality in Health Care in Nigeria.

Organized by Informa Markets, a prominent global exhibitions organizer, this year’s Medic West Africa will celebrate its 10th anniversary and also serve as the official launch platform for Medlab West Africa in partnership with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN). Medlab West Africa will provide manufacturers with exclusive access to a diverse audience of buyers, fostering networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities within the West African healthcare and medical laboratory community.

Tom Coleman, the Exhibition Director of Medic West Africa, emphasized the mission to transform the healthcare infrastructure in the region. With the rapidly growing population and increasing demand for quality healthcare services, Medic West Africa plays a pivotal role in driving the progression of the healthcare industry. By facilitating connections, discussions, and exploration of the latest advancements in healthcare technology and solutions, the event creates a conducive environment for businesses and stakeholders.

The Medlab Congress, a key component of the 2023 Medic West Africa event, will introduce laboratory conference tracks focused on laboratory management, clinical microbiology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics. Renowned industry experts, including Dr. Donald I. Ofili, Director & Deputy Registrar of MLSCN Accreditation Service, Dr. Akyala Ishaku, Director of the Global Health and Infectious Diseases Centre at Nasarawa State University, and Dr. Abdul Karim Sesay, Head of the Genomics Strategic Platform at the Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, will serve as facilitators. The sessions will be eligible for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation by MLSCN.

The 2023 edition of Medic West Africa aims to unlock the immense potential of the thriving healthcare and laboratory sector in West Africa. Supported by various trade associations, governmental agencies, and industry partners such as Abbott, Randox, Erba Manheim, and Qiagen, Medic West Africa welcomes attendees free of charge, fostering inclusivity and accessibility to drive innovation and progress in the healthcare industry.
