The Federal Ministry of Agricultural and Food Security in collaboration with the CBNetwork Global Concept and other major stakeholders are set to host the world at the Africa Agricultural Machines Equipment and Technology Expo (AAMETEX).
This year theme is “Transforming Africa’s Agriculture through Technology and Innovation.”
A director of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Engr A.G Abubakar, at the inaugural brainstorming session with other stakeholders in agriculture and government agencies emphasised on the need for modern agriculture and innovation in order to ensure food and nutrition security.
He further highlighted that Africa Agricultural Machines Equipment and Technology Expo promises to showcase the best proven practical solutions from Africa and around the world in addressing issues affecting Agricultural mechanisation and food insufficiencies of economy in Africa.
Over 2000 participants and exhibitors are expected to gather at this event comprising of heads of government, government agencies, chambers of commerce, trade groups and associations, farmers from across africa as well as venture capitalists, policy makers, technocrats, financial institutions, machinery and equipment vendors from across the globe. aametex will feature plenary session, interactive session, breakout sessions and B2B meetings, exhibitions with corporate spotlights from different organisation and country experience sharing among others.
Event director, Prince Gbenga Agboola, in an interview said that at the end of the event, it is expected that several implementable recommendations towards the positioning of Nigeria and Africa for the fourth industrial revolution in the agriculture sector will emerge.
