In a monumental milestone for infrastructure development, construction giant Julius Berger officially handed over the completed Second Niger Bridge to the Federal Government. The 1.6 kilometers long bridge, initially estimated at ₦336 billion, stands as a testament to the commitment to improving transportation links between Anambra and Delta states.

Minister of Works Dave Umahi, during a short ceremony at the toll area of the bridge, expressed approval of the project. He highlighted the significance of the completed bridge, stating, “The completion of the second main Niger Bridge in Onitsha, Anambra State, would help a lot in reducing the traffic congestion of the area.”

Umahi also unveiled plans for toll concessions, private sector involvement in road completion, and strategies to manage traffic during the upcoming festive season. The completion of the Second Niger Bridge marks a significant achievement in addressing infrastructure needs and enhancing connectivity in the region.
