The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that express train services will soon commence on the Kano-Lagos narrow gauge.
Major repairs have been completed on the damaged portions of the rail tracks, as confirmed by a video showing a locomotive undergoing a test-run. The NRC highlighted that the restoration of narrow-gauge train services will benefit the Nigerian masses and enhance the transportation of goods and services in the country.
The managing director of the NRC had previously projected the commencement of express train services on the Kano-Lagos corridor before the end of December 2023. An official statement regarding the resumption date is expected soon.
