Anthony Joshua, the renowned British-Nigerian boxer, has seen a remarkable surge in his career earnings, nearing a staggering $100 million milestone from his various boxing matches. Recent data compiled by Nairametrics reveals that Joshua raked in over $50 million (£30 million) from his highly anticipated heavyweight clash against Francis Ngannou.
In 2023, Forbes reported that Joshua’s earnings amounted to approximately $53 million, inclusive of his triumphant victories against Jermaine Franklin. Furthermore, financial records from Joshua’s Sparta Promotions company indicate an impressive £41.3 million earned during the 2022/23 financial year, excluding earnings from his matches against Helenius and Wallin. Estimates suggest that Joshua secured around £10 million for each of these victories.
In contrast, Ngannou, who earned $20 million, made his debut in the boxing ring against Tyson Fury in October, experiencing a contentious defeat despite knocking down the heavyweight champion.
Following his recent loss to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia, Ngannou issued a public apology to his fans after facing a knockout defeat in the second round against the former world heavyweight champion.
Anthony Joshua’s boxing journey has been characterized by triumphs and setbacks. Despite suffering a surprising loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019, Joshua swiftly avenged the defeat later that year with a unanimous decision. Although he faced subsequent defeats against Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022, Joshua demonstrated resilience by securing a victory over Jermaine Franklin in April 2023.
In addition to his accomplishments inside the ring, Joshua commands a massive social media following, boasting a collective audience of 26 million followers across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
