The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has announced a three-month deadline for owners of uncompleted buildings and undeveloped plots of land in the Abuja to develop them.

Property owners are urged to either begin development and secure their properties or risk title revocation and demolition.

In a statement on Monday by the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Chief Felix Obuah, the administration expressed concerns over the security risks posed by these unmonitored properties.

The decision comes in response to the increase in shanties and squatters taking refuge in these uncompleted structures and vacant plots.

Obuah said the rapid expansion of these shanties and squatters within uncompleted buildings and undeveloped plots across the Federal Capital city was alarming and detrimental to community safety.

The statement further noted that such facilities have become hideouts for individuals with questionable motives, thereby creating serious security challenges for residents.

The FCT Administration then mandated all owners of these abandoned and incomplete properties to act swiftly within the specified three-month period.

It added that those who fail to comply may face actions, including revocation of property titles and demolition of such structures.
