The name Dr. Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu ThankGod doesn’t sound familiar to an average gospel music listener in Nigeria yet the mentioning of the name EeZee Tee would elicit a keen reaction from this same listener.

He is a singer, producer, songwriter, and label executive.

During the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, EeZee Tee’s artiste, Mercy Chinwo, was all over the Internet.

Her breakout single, “Na You Dey Reign,” was one of the COVID-19 songs; it soundtrack the moment for the fans.

EeZee Tee was the founder of the record label (EeZee Tee concept) that released this song.

The label is also home to artistes like, Israel Dammy, Judikay, GUC, and Toby Godwin. While he is known more for the business side of the music, only a small fraction of the fans are aware that he has strings of singles in his discography.

I listened to one of his tracks which featured Mercy Chinwo and Israel Dammy. EeZee Tee was behind the production, he also sang some parts of the song.In Igbo Language, Oyoyo means welcome, while Chukwu means most high or the almighty.

By naming this track “Oyoyo Chukwu,” EeZee Tee seems to be showing submission to God, welcoming the almighty.

EeZee Tee does the introduction, with the sublime input of guitar strings, shakers, and trumpet; EeZee Tee introduces Mercy Chinwo, the new entrant into the music industry, and the young and boisterous Israel Dammy.“Oyoyo Chukwu” is heavily laid in Highlife music, with EeZee Tee smartly putting together a mode-tempo production.

Also, Mercy Chinwo and Israel Dammy’s lyrics show range. They switch between the Igbo Language and English.

Submission to the most high remains the dominant topic throughout this song.

Due to the slow tempo of the song, the themes of the song seep in as the artists bounce off each other’s energy.EeZee Tee is a reputable figure in the Nigerian gospel industry; it is exciting to find him to sing.

He is no longer behind the scenes, I take verse, support the artiste, and still shine bright as a music producer, a man of many parts, you would say.As a producer and also as someone who has an ear for music, this track shows how brilliant EeZee Tee is. This track also introduces the fans to Israel Dammy, one of the budding talents in the music industry.

From music productions to selecting the best hand to uplift this track, EeZee Tee seems to be doing a lot for the fans. He keeps improving himself; unexpectedly, he shows the fans that he can sing, and he does it in a glamorous way.

EeZee Tee reminds me of the cameo, on-and-off appearance of Don Jazzy on songs in the 2010s; more of his song features should be released.

He has cracked the music production code, likewise the music business map; it is high time he checked out the singing part.
