The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has strengthened its operational structure with the creation of seven new Area Commands and 11 Divisions across the 16 local government areas of the state.

The newly created Area Commands are Area I (Lafiagi), Area J (Oke- Oyi), Area K (Agbabiaka), Area L (Patigi ), Area M (Kaoama), Aea N (Share ), and Area O (Ilemona), while the newly established Divisions are located in Alagbado, Jebba, Kpada, Ilupeju, Shonga, Tsaragi, Oro, Bacita, Lade, Agbabiaka and Amayo.

The state commandant of NSCDC, Dr. Umar Muhammed, in a statement signed by the Corps public relations officer, Ayoola Michael, said that the creation of the new Area Commands and Divisions was with the approval of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi.

He said that the development was part of the NSCDC’s ongoing efforts to fulfill its core mandates and statutory responsibilities with the goal of enhancing operational effectiveness and service delivery across the state.

Muhammed noted that, “these development complements the existing Area Commands and Divisions, reinforcing the Corps’ commitment to strengthening its presence within communities and fostering collaboration in the fight against criminality in all its forms.”
