APC Dismisses ADC Coalition As Desperate Gathering Of Vendetta Merchants

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a blistering attack on the newly- unveiled coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), branding it a hollow and desperate alliance of political opportunists.
In a statement issued Thursday, APC national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, described the coalition’s unveiling in Abuja as “a gasping whimper, not the thunderous roar its promoters had promised.”
Morka accused the coalition’s leaders of being “hoaxers and self-obsessed merchants of vendetta” driven purely by personal ambition and a lust for power.
“The unveiling was nothing more than a roll call of Nigeria’s me-or-nothing politicians, desperate to claw their way back to power through guile and subterfuge,” the statement read.
Taking a swipe at former senate president David Mark—who was referred to as the “alleged national chairman” of the ADC—Morka said his address at the event was “disgracefully vacant, without substance or purpose,” and merely rehashed “baseless allegations” against the APC-led administration of President Bola Tinubu.
“From beginning to end, Senator Mark said nothing about the purpose of the so-called coalition, other than issuing a loud declaration of desperation for power,” Morka said. “What value does this coalition offer Nigerians? Why should anyone take seriously a clique of egotistical maniacs whose lives revolve around power and patronage?”
He argued that the coalition leaders underestimate the intelligence of Nigerians, asserting that citizens are “highly perceptive and discerning” and would not be fooled by “hollow rhetoric.”
Morka went on to tout what he called the achievements of the Tinubu administration, citing a 3.4 per cent GDP growth rate, a jump in external reserves from $4 billion to over $24 billion, a decline in the debt service-to-revenue ratio from 99 percent to 40 percent, and a reduction in inflation from 31 percent to 22 percent.
He also listed other accomplishments, including exchange rate stability, increased oil exports, enhanced federal allocations to states, and the expansion of social investment programmes.
“With unprecedented access to student loans, a stable academic calendar, modern transport infrastructure, and improved healthcare delivery, President Tinubu remains focused, even as opposition elements indulge in mudslinging,” he said.

Morka insisted that the ruling party would not be distracted by “a coalition of noise” and reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to building “a stronger, enduring, and more prosperous nation.”

In a surprising twist, Leke Abejide, a House of Representatives member and a senior ADC figure, publicly disavowed the coalition, predicting its collapse.

Speaking Thursday on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme, Abejide, who represents Yagba Federal Constituency in Kogi State, declared himself “the face and financier” of the ADC and described the coalition as “doomed to fail.”
