JAMB Sets Strict Deadlines For 2025 University Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set October 31, 2025 as the deadline for public universities to conclude admissions, while private universities must finish by November 30.

Other tertiary institutions, including polytechnics and colleges of education, must close admissions by December 31, 2025.

The policy decision, reached at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the minister of education, is aimed at stabilising Nigeria’s academic calendar and curbing admission fraud.

JAMB warned institutions that failure to submit matriculation lists for 2022 and 2023 admissions will lead to non-approval of subsequent admissions. The Board said this measure is part of automating the National Matriculation List through its Central Admissions Processing System.

Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, said compliance was mandatory and directed that warnings be placed in major newspapers to alert defaulters.
