The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has launched its 2025 Innovation Lab, designed as a six-week accelerator to foster technology-driven solutions in the insurance sector.

Speaking at the inauguration, NIA chairman, Kunle Ahmed, said the facility will nurture startups and develop scalable solutions tailored to Nigeria’s market. “We are igniting a movement rooted in innovation, collaboration, and transformation,” he said.

Ahmed emphasised the importance of adopting artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data analytics to expand access, strengthen efficiency, and build public trust in insurance services.

Survey data from 45 industry leaders revealed readiness for collaboration, with 87 per cent expressing willingness to co-develop solutions and 69 per cent pledging resources in 2025. Fraud management, digital onboarding, and claims processing were cited as top innovation priorities.
