The Kwara State Government has again earned another national recognition as it was named the “Procurement Reform State of the Year 2025” by the Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria (APPON).

The honour was conferred on the state during the APPON’s 5th annual conference, held in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

APPON National President, Dr. James Emem Kanico, who presented the award to officials of Kwara government at the event, hailed the State for its exemplary reforms, describing them as models worthy of emulation by other states.

Kanico urged the state government to continue setting the pace in entrenching impactful and transparent procurement practices.

The General Manager of Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KW-PPA), Raheem Abdulbaki was also named the “Procurement Reform Compliance Director General of the Year 2025” and also inducted into the fellowship of the association.
