Ecobank Nigeria has upgraded its mobile app to deliver a faster, smarter, and more secure banking experience, reinforcing its commitment to deepening financial inclusion through technology.

In a statement on Sunday, the bank said the revamped app comes with a modern interface and enhanced features, including advanced facial recognition, seamless bill payments, airtime top-ups, and QR code transactions—all aimed at providing customers with convenient banking on the go.

Managing Director of Ecobank Nigeria, Mr. Bolaji Lawal, said the upgrade marks a significant milestone in the bank’s digital transformation journey, designed to give customers real convenience, flexibility, and security. He added that the goal is to make financial services more accessible, especially to customers in remote areas with limited access to physical branches.

Executive Director, Commercial and Consumer Banking, Mr. Kola Adeleke, said the redesigned app caters to the evolving needs of digital-savvy customers. It enables cardless onboarding and full card management—from requests and activation to PIN change and account security—alongside profile management, dormant account reactivation, and real-time monitoring of foreign exchange rates.

According to him, the new features reflect Ecobank’s drive to make banking simpler and more efficient, allowing customers to complete a wide range of transactions without visiting a branch.

“This app is not just a digital tool; it represents how we want to engage with our customers. Our goal is to make banking faster, smarter, and simpler,” Adeleke said.

He noted that with mobile penetration increasing across Africa, the upgraded app will help more Nigerians embrace digital banking and benefit from secure, mobile-based financial services.

Ecobank, a member of the Ecobank Group, continues to position itself as a leading pan-African financial institution driving innovation and inclusion through digital transformation.
