The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Group (MANEG) has pledged to strengthen advocacy for the fair and transparent administration of the Export Expansion Grant (EEG) to boost Nigeria’s non-oil exports.
Re-elected Chairperson of MANEG and External Affairs Director at British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN), Mrs. Odiri Erewa-Meggison, made the commitment on Monday in Lagos following her re-election.
She said the group would deepen engagement with government stakeholders to shape export-friendly policies, reduce operational costs, and enhance the global competitiveness of Made-in-Nigeria products.
Erewa-Meggison emphasised the need to strengthen cross-border trade relationships and improve access to regional and international markets, especially within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
She noted that MANEG would help members identify opportunities and address challenges to ensure Nigerian exporters are well-positioned to benefit from the continental trade framework.
“It is with great honour and humility that I stand before you today, deeply grateful for the confidence you have once again placed in me,” she said. “Together, we will continue to elevate MANEG, building on the solid foundation established by those who came before us, while driving new initiatives that strengthen our role as a leading voice in Nigeria’s export ecosystem.”
Erewa-Meggison reaffirmed MANEG’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and job creation through non-oil exports, describing the sector as a vital source of foreign exchange and employment for Nigeria’s youth.
Director-General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mr. Segun Ajayi-Kadir, said Erewa-Meggison’s re-election reflected confidence in her leadership and dedication to advancing Nigeria’s export performance.
He described MANEG as a crucial catalyst for industrial growth, job creation, and foreign exchange stability, stressing that export-led industrialisation was essential for sustainable development.
“With the right policy environment, including stable power, access to finance, and efficient logistics infrastructure, Nigeria’s manufacturing exporters can drive inclusive economic growth and large-scale employment generation,” Ajayi-Kadir said.
MANEG serves as MAN’s dedicated export advocacy arm, representing manufacturers engaged in exports and promoting policies that enhance competitiveness and non-oil export growth.
