LG Electronics Nigeria has commissioned a solar-powered borehole and a free mobile laundry station for residents of the Anfeyin Oja Olokuta community in Ilorin under its Life’s Good Initiative.

In a statement by the firm, the project, which marks the 16th borehole donated by LG across Nigeria, reinforces the company’s commitment to clean water access, health, and community development adding that the facility will provide residents with safe, year-round water supply, while the mobile laundry station—available for three months—aims to promote hygiene and ease domestic chores.

LG also deployed a service team to offer free maintenance for LG appliances, extending its social impact beyond water access to overall community well-being.
Speaking at the commissioning, Head of Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics Nigeria, Mr. Paul Mba, said the initiative reflects LG’s vision of promoting dignity and health. “Access to clean water is a right, not a privilege. Our Life’s Good Initiative is about dignity, health, and hope. We’re proud to stand with Anfeyin Olokuta in building a healthier future,” he said.
Representing the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Hon. Abdullah Bata, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, commended LG for the gesture. “This is a laudable donation to our dear community, and the people are grateful. The Governor appreciates LG Electronics for this support and looks forward to more collaboration with the company,” he stated.
Also speaking, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, described the initiative as a model of effective public-private partnership. “This project demonstrates what’s possible when the private sector works with government and local leaders. Clean water and sanitation are the foundation of healthy, thriving communities,” he said.
Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government, Hon. Garuba Lukmon Agbelere, also expressed gratitude, describing the gesture as transformative. “LG’s generosity gives us more than water—it gives us pride and a sense of belonging. This partnership brings real change to our community,” he said.
