The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called for stronger government support to upgrade the Kaduna orientation camp ahead of the 2025 Batch C programme.
State Coordinator, Mrs Efeke Dadaza, made the appeal at the swearing-in ceremony for new corps members, where she commended Governor Uba Sani for ongoing interventions — including the provision of a new JMC Hilux, renovation works, solar lighting, boreholes, plastic chairs and the inauguration of the NYSC governing board.
Dadaza said the scheme remained committed to corps members’ welfare, noting that the orientation course was designed to equip participants with leadership, vocational, entrepreneurship and self-defence skills to enhance their service-year performance.
She, however, urged the state government to further strengthen support by improving feeding allowances, providing bunk beds and mattresses, and enhancing stipends for corps members posted to Kaduna. According to her, adequate government backing is essential for effective service delivery and national assignment.
The coordinator reminded corps members to participate fully in all camp activities, stressing that the scheme rewards discipline, dedication and professionalism.
Represented by Commissioner Gloria Ibrahim, Gov. Uba Sani congratulated the new corps members and restated the government’s commitment to their safety and welfare throughout their service year.
