PMB’s Appointees Should Do More For Nigerians – Sen Ibrahim

Former governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointees to provide good leadership for the over 200 million Nigerians under their leadership.

He stated this when he received the members of Awareness For Good Leadership, Peace and Development, who paid him a courtesy visit in his Abuja residence.

Ibrahim, who was awarded the grand patron of the group, commended the members for founding him worthy of the honour.

He said: “I believe that those close to Mr. President need to do more, but I don’t think they are the ones destroying this country, but they are not doing enough to impress 200 million Nigerians by providing good leadership, peace, and development as end products.

“I don’t believe that anyone or individual and groups can destroy this country, so for us to make progress, we have to work harder to show good examples as leaders who are close to the president.”

He, however, appealed to all stakeholders to join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari in winning the battle against insecurity in the country to ensure development. He added that leadership is not an individual race but a collective effort by all.

In his remarks, the national president of Awareness for Good Leadership, Peace and Development, Abdullahi Aliyu Katsina, said, “We feel that we need to have someone who has voluntarily retired but not tired, also willing and ready to contribute ideas that could impact on Nigeria.”

He also said that their aim is to create awareness on the socio-economic development of Nigerians and peaceful coexistence. It is also to bridge the communication gap between leaders and citizens.

Katsina described the former governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim, as a leader with proven integrity, capable of rising to any challenge.
