The Federal Capital Territory will host the Africa Climate Forum (ACF) 2025, a two-day event aimed at driving Africa’s green transition through practical solutions and cross-sector collaboration.
Prof. George Nwangwu, Director-General of the Global Centre for Law, Business and Economy (GCLBE), announced the forum on Friday in Abuja, stating that it would convene governments, investors, innovators, businesses, financial institutions, and civil society leaders from across the continent.
“Now in its third year, the Forum has become a key platform for turning climate ideas into action,” Nwangwu said. This year’s theme, ‘Bolder, Greener and Better Steps: Closing Transition Gaps in Africa,’ focuses on bridging gaps in funding, technology, and capacity that have hindered progress in renewable energy and climate policy.
The event, scheduled for October 14–15, will feature keynote speeches, policy sessions, side events, networking meetings, and a Deal Room connecting project owners with investors. An innovation Marketplace will showcase cutting-edge clean technologies from Africa and beyond.
“ACF 2025 aims to move discussions from promises to projects, cutting emissions, improving energy access, and creating jobs,” Nwangwu said. He added that participants from government, finance, academia, and the private sector are expected to forge stronger partnerships and attract more investment in green initiatives.
Since its inception in 2023, the ACF has grown into one of Africa’s most respected climate platforms, providing actionable frameworks for delivering home-grown solutions for a greener global economy
