The Minister of State for Defence and former Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has described the just-concluded 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress as a model of organisation and security.
He attributed the success of the exercise to thorough planning and strategic innovations.
Matawalle also congratulated the newly elected National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside other officials elected at the convention.
In a post shared on his social media handle on Saturday, the minister said the convention reaffirmed the party’s unity and collective strength.
“Yesterday, at the National Convention of our great party, we witnessed yet another defining moment that reaffirmed our collective strength, unity, and commitment to progress,” he said.
According to him, the convention was conducted in a peaceful, orderly and transparent manner, culminating in the successful election of members of the National Working Committee.
He said, “The responsibility before you is significant, but it equally presents a clear opportunity to consolidate unity, strengthen party structures, and position the APC for even greater victories in the future.”
Matawalle further commended the Chairman of the 2026 APC National Convention Central Coordination Committee, Aminu Bello Masari, for what he described as exemplary leadership.
“His dedication and service to our party remain deeply appreciated,” he added.
The minister noted that the ruling party had remained committed to delivering on its mandate to Nigerians, stressing the need for unity within its ranks.
He urged party members to close ranks and focus on governance, warning against internal divisions.
“Nigerians expect us to serve them with focus and dedication, not to be divided among ourselves,” he said.
Matawalle also called for continued support for the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence in the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
