Collaboration of All Women APC Support Group, has stated that it will support more women in rural areas while calling for collaborations from government to create opportunities for the empowerment and sustenance of long-term solutions for women.

The Collaboration of All Women APC Support Group, which is a group of women comprises of coordinators, DOG’S leaders of various APC support group in Nigeria, made the call yesterday at the unveiling and press conference held in Abuja.

The convener of the group, Dr Anthonia Okwudibonye said that the idea of forming this group is the realisation of importance of women in politics, particularly after the recent election.

Okwudibonye said, “Our mission is clear: To bring together all women’s support groups, coordinators, and leaders who have substantial structures from the national to the grassroots and have demonstrated a high level of commitment during previous elections, particularly the last election that gave us victory and ushered in the emergence of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Ensuring the smooth operation of the current administration by uniting all women under one umbrella and giving them a single voice and direction. To establish a collaborative women’s support group that empowers women who have actively participated in politics and contributed to the creation of a more inclusive and equitable society. We work to ensure that women’s opinions are heard, valued, and represented at all levels of government.

“We foresee a thriving collaboration in which women in politics encourage, uplift, and mentor one another. We want to establish a secure and welcoming environment that encourages collaboration. networking, and the exchange of ideas, allowing women to form strong alliances and multiply their combined effect. Our group is dedicated to elevating the voices of women in politics so that their ideas and experiences are acknowledged and incorporated into decision-making. We work hard to create spaces for women to contribute their stories, ideas, and expertise, fostering a varied spectrum of perspectives that reflect the needs and ambitions of all women.

“We believe in the potential of collaboration and actively seek collaboration with other organisations, political institutions, and civil society organisations. We can harness our collective abilities, resources, and influence to promote systemic change, break down gender barriers, and advance women’s political empowerment on a global scale by joining hands. Our partisan group is committed to unite all APC Women support groups together so that in every upcoming election we have a strong voice in oneness for our APC candidate.”

She added that the support group is not just about political affiliation; it goes beyond that. It is about creating a platform for women to harness their potential, to be agents of change, and to actively participate in the decision- making processes that shape our nation’s future. It is about providing a support network where women can share experiences, knowledge, and strategies for personal and collective growth.

“Furthermore, this support group will serve as a platform for mentoring and capacity building. We will nurture and empower the next generation of women leaders, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel in their chosen fields. By investing in women’s political empowerment, we are not only investing in individuals or younger generations but also in the future of our nation,” she stated.

Pioneer deputy national women leader, Mrs Tina Ekwueme Adike, has lauded president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for giving women opportunity to strive.

“To be honest president has done well. Before there were no many women occupying ministerial positions as it is today under President Tinubu. So that marks a good start. The Tinubu I know in Lagos State is going to do more for Nigerians. In Lagos State, he started making women deputy governor. He had made so many women to be relevant in politics.

“This is national, he is not going to relent, he is doing well already and he is going to do more. Why I’m saying this is because so many appointments are coming and I want everybody to watch and see what Tinubu is going to do for the women of Nigeria,” she said.

President Women Are Ready Mission, Hon Lady Marlene Okolie said that We intend to grown people but government has to do more especially in empowerment and education of the girl child and that is why this group is created so that from government through us, we should be able to educate the grassroots on governance. Because without women there will be no nation, no politics.

“So this group was formed to help the APC in particular to put the women together. To put us together send us as an errand to go and help the grassroots.”

Special Assistant to National Women Leader of APC, Dr Philomena Abieyuwa Eriyo said that We have tested these women here and we have know that they are really grassroots women champions. So we have all come a long way for the APC. I for one started the party from a group call grace group that metamorphoses to AC from AC to ACN and to APC today. So I have been a grassroots woman and obviously the local government I represented in Edo state is a rural area local government. It is not urbanized. So expertises on taking our information down to the grassroots to every nook and cranny has been the business of every woman here.
