Manchester United legend Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to still go ahead and beat Liverpool to the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners are six points behind leaders Liverpool with the Reds having a game in hand.
Despite the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus sidelined with injuries, Arsenal failed to make any signing in the January transfer window.
Commenting on the club’s failure to bring in anybody, especially in the attacking position, Neville believes it would not hinder their hopes of emerging league champions.
“It’s a difficult window to do business in and the type of striker Arsenal need is a significant one and those players aren’t available,” Neville was quoted on Arsenal News Channel. “Ollie Watkins would have hit the ground running at Arsenal. But they are a fantastic team and you need to be world-class to get into that team.
“Who is available? I can see why they are being patient. Liverpool did the same with Martin Zubimendi. Both Arsenal and Liverpool are being run pretty well. They won’t panic.
“Arsenal can still win the title. It’s a long shot but they just need to be there if Liverpool slip up. There’s a long way to go yet. Injuries happen to big players in football and the loss of Van Dijk or Salah would disrupt.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal will be in action in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United on Wednesday.

The Magpies will go into the tie on the back of a 2-0 lead.
