Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that the Ballon d’Or award lacks credibility.
According to him, he wasn’t surprised that Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr. did not win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Recall that Manchester City midfielder Rodri won the Ballon d’Or ahead of Vinicius last year.
Vinicius was the favourite for the 2024 Ballon d’Or following his impressive season with Real Madrid.
The Brazilian international scored 25 goals and provided 12 assists in 40 games across competitions for Los Blancos.
He also won the Champions League, LaLiga, and Supercopa de España with Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
“Vini Jr. deserved to win the Ballon d’Or, but I’m not surprised… not only because I didn’t win it or not, but because it lacks credibility.
“He won the Champions League and scored goals,” Ronaldo was quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano on X.
