Agriculture experts have emphasised the necessity of federal-state collaboration in budgeting for climate-smart agriculture.

This initiative aims to bolster food security, advance socioeconomic development, and improve living conditions nationwide.

A one-day Consultative Policy Workshop on Climate and Biofortification, jointly organised by HarvestPlus and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS), took place in Abuja, Nigeria.

The event brought together participants from Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, and Gombe states, focusing on developing state-specific strategies to enhance climate-resilient agricultural practices and biofortified nutrition.

Head of national policy and innovative financing at HarvestPlus, Ms. Rewa Misra, emphasised the workshop’s pivotal role in facilitating policy reform.
