In a festive announcement, the Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Monday and Tuesday, December 25 and 26, 2023, as well as Monday, January 1, 2024, as public holidays to commemorate the joyous occasions of Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The proclamation was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government, during a statement on Friday, December 22, 2023. Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended heartfelt felicitations to Christians and all Nigerians, both within the country and in the Diaspora, on the forthcoming celebrations.

Encouraging a spirit of reflection, Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged Christians to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, emphasizing values such as humility, service, compassion, and patience during the festive season.
