The Federal Government, in partnership with private sector stakeholders, is set to convene a national workshop aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s regulatory institutions in line with global best practices.
The high-level programme, themed “Regulating for Global Standards and Best Practices,” will hold from August 28 to 29, 2025, at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Kubwa, Abuja.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Programme Coordinator, Sir T. Willie Tawo, said the event is being organised by Allied Bond Consulting in collaboration with PIFS Conferences and Seminars. He noted that the initiative is a strategic response to the challenges confronting Nigeria’s regulatory ecosystem, particularly overlapping jurisdictions, conflicting enforcement mechanisms, and weak institutional frameworks.
“The workshop will provide actionable strategies for strengthening regulatory authorities to ensure improved service delivery, efficiency, and governance outcomes. It also aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government,” the statement read.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Dr. George Akume, CON, will serve as Special Guest of Honour and deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony.
The programme is specifically targeted at senior officials of regulatory bodies, including heads and directors in charge of regulatory affairs, compliance, legal matters, standards, and service delivery (Servicom).
Organisers say the two-day workshop will also explore reforms that can streamline regulatory oversight, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global economic space.
