The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has certified sixteen technology companies to assist taxpayers in onboarding to its electronic invoicing platform ahead of the new deadline of November first, two thousand and twenty-five.
The firms, approved by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) for their technical competence, were unveiled by FIRS acting director of tax automation, Mike Adoga, at a two-day e-invoicing workshop in Lagos.
The certified companies include Pasca Technology Limited, Hoptool Technology Limited, Etranzact International Plc, Telepac Africa Nigeria Limited, Cryptware System Limited, Namiri Technology Nigeria Limited, Ace of Spedes Consult Nigeria Limited, Jureb Business Solutions Limited, Qucoon Limited, Courteville Business Solutions, Softrust Technologies Limited, Westmetro Limited, Arca Payments Company Limited, and Remita Payment Limited.
Adoga said the providers met conditions such as nationwide service capacity, security, neutrality, and cross-sector performance. He stressed that taxpayers are free to choose or switch providers and warned that non-compliant companies would be delisted.
Chief of staff to the FIRS executive chairman, Tayo Koleosho, said over one thousand companies have joined the platform since its August 1st launch, representing just 20 per cent of the target 5000 companies.
The e-invoicing platform, also known as the Merchant Buyer Solution, replaces traditional invoicing with structured digital invoices for business-to-business, business-to-consumer, and business-to-government transactions to enhance compliance, efficiency, and transparency.
