With 75 per cent of organisations in need for a continuous scanning innovations, Fujitsu Limited, a Japanese multinational information and communications technology equipment and services corporation, has introduced a wide range of improved document capture solutions into the Nigerian market.
The group business development manager, IQ Express Limited, Andras Farkas, at the IQ-FUJITSU Forum/Product Launch event in Lagos, said most organisations are not satisfied with their existing scanners.
Farkas disclosed that, a recent study revealed that 53 per cent of organisations are in need for new scanners to replace some of their old ones.
The reason for that is not far-fetched, said the group business development manager, adding that, rescanning poorly scanned documents is a major time waster. He disclosed that, 45 per cent of buyers are looking for high speed scanning, 45 per cent are looking for integration into existing enterprise systems, 44 per cent are looking for scanner with good image quality, 42 per cent are looking for central management of scanner and 41 per cent are looking for good security capabilities.
To satisfy the needs of its customers, the managing director, IQ Express Group, Mr Richard Amaechi Ani, said Fujitsu has come up with new scanning products that increase usability and flexibility, in that the scanners can scan in any environment and support various operation modes, according to the customer’s environment.
For instance, the Fi-8000 series that was recently introduced into the Nigerian market can stably scan large volumes with automatic separation control, Ani disclosed, adding that, the device switches to the optimum separation torque in accordance with the number of loaded documents, enabling stable piper feeding.
“In addition to ‘ISOP’ the new scanner can detect abnormal noises. It supports scanning of a wide range of documents, including passports and booklets). It is state-of-art feeding technology, in that it improve multi-feed detection, optimise high-quality image data for business use and avoid image loss with overscan control function.
“It also improve stackability. The new Fujitsu 8000 series has made it possible to extend the width of the feeder guides to accommodate documents larger than A4 (C4 size, envelopes, tractor -feed paper etc). All that is require is to move tab position,” the managing director revealed.
