IBOM ICON Hotel Graduates First Set Of Management Development Programme

In keeping with its commitment to the consistent delivery of 5-star hospitality, the management of IBOM ICON Hotel & Golf Resort recently concluded the first edition of the Icon Management Development Programme with a charge to the pioneer graduands to be the best in their respective fields without selling themselves short in the labour market.

The management training programme, whose objective was to ensure a continuous supply of talented future leaders for sustainable growth in the hospitality sector, drew its trainees from the Hotel’s host communities, ICON employees and fresh graduates with leadership qualities, good communication skills, caring attitude and a track record of hard work.

The chairman, Board of Directors, IBOM ICON Hotel & Golf Resort, Mr Udeme Ufot, MFR, alongside the chief executive officer of the hotel, Mr Adetope Kayode, commended the trainees during the maiden graduation ceremony of the programme held at IBOM ICON Hotel & Golf Resort, thanking the host community for ensuring a favourable environment for them to thrive and develop human resources in the community.

The programme culminated in the presentation of cash prizes to the top three students, including Raphael Ekpenyong, Julius Moses, and Rosemary Inyang, respectively. As the top graduand, Ekpenyong was rewarded with N300,000, while Moses came second with a cash prize of N200,000, and Inyang, who came third, went home with N150,000.

Speaking, the general manager of the hotel, Mr Charles Muia, congratulated the graduands on the success of their training with a promise to retain them in the company and send them for further training abroad.

The paramount ruler of Uruan Local Government Area, Edidem Cosmas Bassey, represented by the Nsom Council Secretary, Obong Effiong Okon, alongside the community peace ambassador Engr. JB Effiong, thanked the management of the hotel for effective management and transformation of the hotel, appreciating the company for inclusion of the indigenes of Uruan in the training programme.

With the Icon Management Development Programme, IBOM ICON Hotel & Golf Resort consolidates on its legacy of giving back to its immediate community and creating capacity-building opportunities for its staff.
