The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s infrastructure framework in 2025. Dr. Jobson Ewalefoh, the commission’s director-general, made the announcement in a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday.
Ewalefoh expressed the ICRC’s determination to leverage innovative financing models and harness private-sector expertise to deliver infrastructure projects that will transform lives and foster economic resilience.
“As we celebrate the holiday season and prepare for the new year, I wish to extend warm greetings to our partners, stakeholders, and all Nigerians. This year has been transformative for the ICRC. Together, we have worked tirelessly to accelerate infrastructure development and bridge the nation’s infrastructure gap through innovative public-private partnerships (PPPs),” Ewalefoh said.
Looking ahead to 2025, Ewalefoh emphasised the ICRC’s vision to solidify Nigeria’s infrastructure framework by deploying innovative financing models and tapping into private-sector expertise to drive economic growth and resilience.
The director-general also commended the visionary leadership of President Bola Tinubu, highlighting his unwavering commitment to building a stronger economy, developing robust infrastructure, and creating sustainable jobs for the youth. He noted that President Tinubu’s initiatives had rekindled hope for Nigeria’s future and positioned the country as a beacon of progress in Africa.
Under Tinubu’s administration, the ICRC has streamlined processes for approving PPPs and fostered inter-agency collaboration to attract private investments in critical infrastructure projects. Ewalefoh assured continued efforts to ensure that PPPs deliver optimal value, strengthen investor confidence, and support Nigeria’s long-term economic growth.
“I extend my deepest gratitude to Mr. President for the confidence reposed in me through my appointment as D-G. I assure him of my unwavering commitment to diligently execute my duties in alignment with his Renewed Hope Agenda, which is delivering uncommon transformation across Nigeria,” Ewalefoh stated.
