Eagle Aromatic Schnapps, Nigeria’s authentic prayer drink and cultural heritage brand from the stable of Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL), has again demonstrated the brand’s spirit of solidarity and felicitation as it celebrated this year’s Ita Oba Day with the Olota of Ota,  His  Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II and the Awori people.

The Ita Oba Day in its fifth year, was one of the numerous community development initiatives introduced by Oba Obalanlege on his ascension of the Olota throne five years ago. The special day serves as a platform for uniting all Awori sons and daughters at home and in the Diaspora, and is celebrated every year immediately after the Eid-el Kabir festivities. The Ota towns and communities that come together to celebrate day include Sango-Ota, Ilogbo-Ota, Itele-Ota, Atan-Ota and others.

Speaking at the event, the IDL team led by the insight and category manager, Mr. ‘Tofunmi Opaleye, commended the Olota of Ota Kingdom for setting aside the special day as a rally point for the development and growth of Awori Kingdom.

He said Eagle Schnapps’ support for Ita Oba Day was in line with the brand’s commitment to deepening its partnership with the throne of Olota of Ota, assuring that it would continue to seek opportunities to promote the rich tradition, customs and culture of the Awori people.

Opaleye noted, “Eagle Schnapps is excited to be a part of the fifth edition of Ita Oba Day to show our love for the Olota of Ota Kingdom, His Majesty, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, the people of Ota and the Awori people. As a cultural heritage brand, we are proud to associate with the valued and treasured cultures and traditions of Awori people.”

He stated further that being home to Eagle Schnapps and its array of other  brands, IDL would always identify with the good people of Ota Kingdom and the Aworiland in general.

Also speaking at the event, IDL’s regional sales manager, Lagos 2, Mr. Dele Adeyemi, commended the organising committee for the well-packaged and well-attended event, while stating that Eagle Schnapps remained Nigeria’s authentic prayer drink, and  preferred cultural heritage brand.

The Olota of Ota Kingdom, Oba Obalanlege, used the occasion to emphasise the need for greater unity among Awori people at home and abroad, stating that Ita Oba Day was a unifying festival to encourage bonding among Ota sons and daughters.

Eagle Aromatic Schnapps, an authentic prayer drink that resonates with the people, remains committed to upholding Nigeria’s cultural heritage.  As part of Intercontinental Distillers Limited’s esteemed portfolio, Eagle Aromatic Schnapps continues to symbolise unity, celebration, and spirituality.
