A group of concerned youth members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider the appointment of Defence Minister Badaru Abubakar, citing dissatisfaction with his performance and alleged disloyalty to the party.

Addressing the Journalists and gathering protesters in Dutse on Friday ,the group coordinator,Ahmad Magaji Bashir said claimed that the Defence Minister’s actions have undermined the APC’s efforts and tarnished the party’s reputation in Jigawa.

We expressed frustration over Abubakar’s failure to support APC initiatives in the state and his perceived alignment with the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The group

Bashir outlined several grievances, including Abubakar’s alleged lack of meaningful support for APC members and his perceived favoritism toward PDP members in the state. The youth group also highlighted reports of APC billboards bearing the images of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima being disrupted under Abubakar’s watch.

“We are deeply concerned about the Minister’s lack of commitment to the APC’s vision and programs, which has caused frustration within our ranks.

“His actions appear to work against the interests of the party in Jigawa and Nigeria at large.”

The group expressed concern that Abubakar’s tenure could negatively impact APC’s standing in Jigawa and beyond, and called on President Tinubu to take swift action to address the situation.

“We urge President Tinubu to reconsider Minister Abubakar’s appointment. His continued role in the government could jeopardize the party’s effectiveness and hinder our collective efforts,” the group added.

The youth group reiterated their commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s administration but emphasized the need for stronger leadership within the APC to restore confidence and unity among members in Jigawa State.
