The newly elected president of the Boys Brigade Lagos State Council, Elder U.K. Eke, has promised to transform the lives of boys and young men in Nigeria.
Speaking at his investiture ceremony as the 8th president of the Lagos State Council of the Boy’s Brigade Nigeria, held recently at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN), Lekki parish, Lagos, Eke promised that with his leadership, he aims to empower them to become positive changemakers in the nation.
The Boy’s Brigade is an international, interdenominational Christian youth organisation for boys aged 6–9 to promote Christ’s kingdom and positive societal habits.
Eke said, “This is a new dispensation. This is the beginning of a new era. This era will transform the boys and families across the state. Because as we move around the streets, we cannot help but notice our young boys, who, if not attended to, will be a menace to us not too far from now. Therefore, the burden cannot be left to the state government alone. With our vast number of members from various walks of life, we will mobilise; we will redeem the time and our youth.”
Also, Eke used the opportunity to acknowledge the support of the Lagos State Government, “Our sincere gratitude to the Governor, Mr Babjide Sanwo-Oluand, let him know that personally, and as a movement, as a Brigade, we pledge our partnership to the great work he is doing. Whatever support he has rendered to us today and the ones that will render in the years to come, I assure you that he will be very prudent, accountable, and transparent.”
Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, acknowledged the Boys Brigade as one of the 57 voluntary youth organisations under the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, noting they are partners in progress. The governor, also the grand patron of the Boys Brigade, expressed that since its founding, the Boy’s Brigade has been a trailblazer in moving the minds and hearts of boys and young men across the globe.

Solomon Okoro, emphasised the importance of servant leadership at the investiture ceremony of the new president of the Boys Brigade Lagos State Council. The Reverend stressed that leadership is a divine call, requiring integrity, humility, and a servant’s heart.
