Chairman , Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Mr Olusola Ajala, has urged youths to embrace entrepreneurship and acquire the necessary skills , in order to be self-reliant.
Ajala gave the advice while speaking at a training programme, organised for youths in the council area on Thursday in Lagos.
350 youths were trained in digital marketing at the programme.
The council chairman said entrepreneurship was the the solution to the problem of unemployment and that of poverty.
Ajala said the programme aligned with the vision of his administration to position Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA as a hub of innovation.
“Our aim is to empower participants with essential digital marketing skills,so that they can contribute to the growth of local businesses and the overall development of the community.
“The participants, who are youths in the community ,were exposed to practical insights on digital marketing during the programme.
“Throughout the intensive training, participants were immersed in hands-on sessions covering various aspects of digital marketing,” he said.
He added that programme also aimed at equipping the participants with the expertise needed to navigate the competitive online landscape.
Ajala said the training was also to empower participants to harness the power of digital marketing, promote brands, products, and businesses.
“By acquiring these skills, participants gained the ability to reach a broader target audience online, consequently boosting their online visibility and driving sales.
“The training also fostered a collaborative environment, allowing participants to network with fellow entrepreneurs, share experiences, and explore potential partnerships.
“This development is not only enriched the learning experience, but also laid the foundation for a supportive local business ecosystem within the LCDA.
“As participants implement their newfound digital marketing skills, the ripple effect is expected to fuel economic development, create job opportunities, and position the LCDA as a model for community-driven progress,” the chairman said.
