Leadway Assurance Partners Farmers To Boost Agricultural Practices

Leadway Assurance Company Limited and Corporate Farmers, a prominent agricultural promotion organisation, have joined forces to host an engaging and informative interactive session for farmers in Nigeria’s south-west region.

This collaborative effort is aimed at strengthening relationships and facilitating the exchange of innovative ideas to foster growth in Nigeria’s vital agriculture sector.

The interactive session brought together more than 100 farmers from the south-western region, along with industry experts and key stakeholders across the agriculture value chain. Discussions covered essential topics such as risk management, sustainable farming practices, financial planning, agribusiness development, community building, partnerships, and leveraging technology advancements to enhance productivity.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Oluwaseun Fasoranti, Senior Agriculture and Microinsurance Specialist at Leadway Assurance, emphasised the crucial role farmers play in the country’s economy. He acknowledged the challenges farmers face, including uncertainties caused by events like droughts, floods, post-harvest losses, and pest invasions.

Mr. Fasoranti highlighted the need to address these challenges to ensure the continuous growth of the agriculture sector.

Mr. Ayoola Fatona, Head of Agricultural Insurance at Leadway Assurance, shared that the partnership aligns with their mission to support farmers during unpredictable times. He emphasized that Leadway’s agriculture insurance policies are designed to provide a safety net in the face of unexpected weather patterns or unforeseen circumstances. These policies are not just contractual documents, but promises to safeguard farmers’ interests and productivity.

Co-founder of Corporate Farmers International, Mr. Akin Alabi, also expressed his thoughts on the partnership. He stated that the interactive session with Leadway Assurance complements their mission of empowering farmers amid growing challenges in the sector. By combining Leadway Assurance’s financial and risk management expertise with Corporate Farmers’ understanding of the Nigerian agricultural value chain, the collaboration aims to equip farmers with the tools needed to succeed in the evolving agriculture landscape.

Overall, the partnership between Leadway Assurance and Corporate Farmers seeks to provide farmers with valuable insights, support, and solutions to enhance their productivity and contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
