LG Electronics has unveiled its latest advancements in HVAC technology at the Annual LG HVAC Consultant Leaders’ Summit held in Lagos.

In a statement, the company said the event spotlighted its new commercial air conditioner, the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) System, and the Multi V 5 air quality solution, which is designed to optimise heating and cooling for high-rise buildings, hospitals, and airports.
According to general manager of Air Solutions at LG Electronics, Mr. Joonkyu Song, there is an urgent need for innovative HVAC solutions in Africa. “As urbanisation accelerates and commercial construction projects multiply across the continent, the demand for smart, energy-efficient HVAC systems has never been greater. Our latest technologies provide unparalleled performance and align with our commitment to sustainability,” he stated.
He further emphasised the significance of the Multi V 5 air quality solution, stating, “This system is a game-changer for both energy efficiency and wellness. It empowers building managers to maintain optimal air quality while significantly reducing energy consumption. We believe a healthier indoor environment enhances productivity and well-being, especially in hospitals and schools.”
Song also addressed LG’s strategic focus on education and training: “The establishment of our B2B Academy in Lagos reflects our dedication to nurturing talent and expertise within the HVAC sector. We understand that innovation is not just about technology; it’s also about empowering professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to implement these solutions effectively.”
He concluded his address with a forward-looking perspective,
“As we continue to churn out innovative products, our goal is to lead the transformation of the HVAC landscape in Africa. Together with our partners, we can create a future where energy-efficient solutions are accessible, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient environment for future generations.”
LG Electronics also said, “Africa’s emerging market presents a high growth potential for LG’s HVAC business, driven by a surge in commercial construction. The region increasingly seeks smart HVAC solutions offering integrated IoT control, building automation, and real-time performance monitoring. The summit proved to be a vibrant platform for networking and collaboration among industry leaders, consultants, and business partners. Attendees engaged in dynamic discussions, sharing insights into market trends and the future of HVAC technology. The atmosphere was excited as participants explored potential partnerships that could drive innovation and growth in the sector.”
