MTN Nigeria has reached a significant milestone, becoming the first Nigerian organisation, the first in the telecommunications sector, and the first within the MTN Group to receive the prestigious Compliance Management System (CMS) certification from the International Accreditation Service (IAS).
This globally recognised certification highlights MTN Nigeria’s dedication to upholding top-tier compliance standards across its operations. The certification encompasses all management activities in telecommunications, digital services, mobile voice and data, innovative digital platforms, wholesale distribution, broadband connectivity, and advanced technology solutions for corporate and institutional clients nationwide.
MTN Nigeria’s chief risk & compliance officer, Obiageli Ugboma, while commenting on the achievement, said, this milestone reflects the company’s robust compliance framework and proactive risk management in a dynamic digital environment.
It underscores our commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and innovative solutions to Nigerians, Ugboma stated.
The International Accreditation Service (IAS) accredits organisations worldwide, ensuring adherence to national and international standards. The ISO 37301:2021 CMS standard serves as a benchmark for effective compliance management, providing a framework for organisations to establish, implement, and continually improve their compliance systems while adhering to laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
MTN Nigeria’s certification underscores its commitment to fostering integrity, managing risks, and enhancing corporate governance and operational efficiency. This accomplishment positions MTN Nigeria as a compliance leader in the telecommunications industry, setting a high standard for excellence in Nigeria and beyond.
