The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has published no fewer than 1,571 insurance-related complaints from policyholders against different insurance companies.
NAICOM published the document on its website on Wednesday to ensure that insurance companies pay for resolved policyholders’ complaints.
The document showed that the Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc topped the chart with 327 complaints from its customers, with the African Alliance Insurance Plc following with 281 complaints.
It showed further that Standard Alliance had 229 complaints, A&G Insurance Plc had 80 complaints, AIICO Insurance had 65 complaints, while Coronation Insurance had 29 complaints, among others.
“The complaints ranged from motor insurance, group life, education, bond, annuity and all risks, among others,” the commission said.
NAICOM had called on insurance companies to ensure the settlement of policyholders’ claims.
The commission had said that insurance companies would henceforth pay for all cases it resolved.
