As part of efforts to help Yobe State fight corona virus pandemic, the Wife of the President, Mrs. A’isha Muhammadu Buhari has donated personal protective equipment and essential medical consumables to the state government.
Presenting the donations to Governor Buni at the Government House Damaturu, Wife of the President represented by the Special Assistants to the president under the office of the First Lady Alhaji Mohammed Albishir said the donations were meant to support the state government towards fighting COVID-19.
The donations according to her were meant three health institutions, Teaching Hospital Damaturu, Specialist Hospital Damaturu and Maryam Abatcha Maternal Hospital.
“This is part of Her Excellency’s efforts and commitment to compliment government efforts to the COVID-19 Pandemic through her future Assured Programme.
“Apart from that Your Excellency, there are six volunteer Nurses which will be engaged to assist the three listed hospital pharmacists in dispensing the medicine and distribution of the donated items.”
Governor Buni while receiving the donations at the Government House Damaturu, commended the First Lady for the support adding that the intervention will no doubt complement the efforts of the state government to curb the spread of the Corona Virus disease.
Buni said, “The hand sanitizers, surgical face mask, respiratory masks, goggles, protective suits, and the drugs donated today, will no doubt contribute to the fight against the scourge.”
The personal protective equipment and essential medical consumables donated includes hand sanitizers, surgical face mask, N95 Respiratory Mask, Goggles, Protective Suits, multivitamins, immune booster, Anti-Malaria, Oral Antibiotics and Anti-Diabetics Drugs.
