President Buhari To Commission Digital Projects, Programs Today

‘Government Can Harness Herbal Tea Production For Export Growth’

Landmark projects and initiatives of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy will be commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja today.

An announcement from the ministry disclosed the projects and initiatives to include: Launching and the unveiling of the Nigerian National Broadband Plan 2020 – 2025; Commissioning of the Communications and Digital Economy Complex; Commissioning of the Abuja Emergency Communication Centre and National Emergency Toll – Free Number 112 and Flagging off of the National Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training.

The projects and programs are in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for a Digital Nigeria launched and unveiled by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR on 28th November 2019.

The activities are targeted at ensuring effective developmental regulation of the Nigerian ICT sector, improve broadband penetration, enhance the security of the nation and responsiveness to emergency life treating situations and lastly empower the youths, women, people living with disabilities among others with the digital skills needed to excel in the 21st century to create potential employers in the society.
