The National Division One Handball League 2022 edition will hold in Benin City, Edo State this September.

According to a statement signed by the secretary general of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, Mr. Almu Umar Lambu, the second-tier league which serves as the promotional competition to the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2023 and is sponsored by the Edo State government, will commence from September 30 to October 9, 2022.

Lambu urged states, clubs, academies and so on to immediately commence registration of their teams ahead of the league so that adequate preparation can commence ahead.

“It is quite important to state that state, clubs and handball academies to commence proper registration ahead of time to aid the effective preparation for the division one league” Mr. Lambu said.

The National Division One Handball League the 2022 edition should not be confused held earlier in the year in March as the latter was the 2021 edition.

It is the second edition since the Edo State government decided to bankroll and host the league.
