Uche Olanrewaju, fashion director of Nesnie Creations, has been selected as one of the recipients of the prestigious Fashion Frontier Africa (FFA) Incubation Programme. This announcement was made by Rian Kihindas, the founder and creative director of Nairobi Fashion Week, during the 2022 edition of the event. Held at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi from November 25th to 27th, the Nairobi Fashion Week has become a key platform to spotlight emerging talent across Africa’s vibrant fashion scene.

Uche Olanrewaju’s Nesnie brand will join a cohort of talented designers from across the continent in the FFA Incubator, a program known for nurturing Africa’s most promising fashion brands. The incubation program helps emerging designers reach their full potential and scale their businesses by focussing on skills development, mentoring, network building, and market access.
At the heart of the FFA program is a commitment to sustainable fashion practices and ethical design. The incubator promotes the use of both traditional and modern techniques in order to champion African fashion on a global stage. Participating designers are provided with invaluable exposure to new markets, investment opportunities, and a platform to showcase their work.
The FFA Incubation Programme aims to bridge the gaps faced by many African designers—especially in areas such as financing, access to materials, and international reach. It serves as an essential springboard for designers to collaborate, innovate, and grow their brands in a way that benefits both the fashion industry and local communities.
For Nesnie Creations and its creative director, Uche Olanrewaju, this recognition marks a major milestone, providing new avenues for expansion and increased visibility in the competitive world of fashion. By being part of this initiative, Nesnie Creations stands to gain not just from the development of skills but also from a network of support that will help the brand flourish both within Africa and beyond.
As the fashion industry increasingly focusses on sustainability, the FFA Incubator underscores the potential of African designers to lead the way in ethical, eco-friendly fashion. The program helps ensure that African fashion continues to evolve and make its mark on the global stage by elevating brands like Nesnie Creations.
