Getting into the month of November with one month left to the end of the year, Nigeria soccer starts have experienced dwindling market values that are fast changing the perception and demand of top clubs in world football about them.

With just approximately twenty months left on his contract with Leicester City,

Ndidi’s current market value is 40 million euros, which is €20million lower than his career-high market value of €60million.This been due to the nagging injury that has prevented him from playing regularly since January 2022. This has significantly reduced his market value making the Nigerian star play lose his rave market value, that has made him a hot commodity for other top clubs in the English premiership.

The holding midfielder has struggled with injuries for most part of 2022 and has not played for the Super Eagles since January, which negatively influenced the development of his market value.

The market value of players in the English Premier League was updated on Thursday, November 3, with Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi suffering one of the biggest downgrades.

Transfermarkt has gone further to reveal the ten biggest losers of the English Premier League update for November 2022.

The biggest change is received by Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho  who has been downgraded from €75 million to €60 million, a negative change of fifteen million euros.

The market value of Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, Leicester ace Ndidi, Liverpool stars Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes dropped by ten million euroseach.

In ninth place is Manchester United defender Raphael Varane who is downgraded from €48 million to €40 million and Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria is tenth with a drop of seven million euros.

The 10 biggest losers of EPL market value include:  Jadon Sancho – Manchester United – €60million (-€15m),  Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Everton – €30m (-€10m),

N’Golo Kante – Chelsea – €30million (-€10m) and Wilfred Ndidi – Leicester City – €40m (-€10m).

Others are Andrew Robertson – Liverpool – €55million (-€10m), Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool – €70million (-€10m), Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United – €75million (-€10m).

The listing of Mohamed Salah of Liverpool losing his firm stand at €80m, less €10million has been a shocking development to world football.

While, Raphael Varane of Manchester United dip to €40million from his former €48million worth has been worrisome.

And Denis Zakaria of Chelsea Fc’s dip to €20million losing €7million has also become a source of worry.

While top players are witnessing sharp drop in their market value in the very tough English Premiership, other top Nigerian and world stars are experiencing rave moments as they see their market values rise astronomically.

Nigeria’s FC Lorient forward Terem Moffi has seen his transfer value rise to a career-high €15 million following an excellent start to the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 campaign.

The Nigeria international has scored eight goals in 12 appearances in the French Championship, outgunned only by the trio of PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Junior, and Lille’s Jonathan David.

At his new market value, Moffi is now Nigeria’s tenth-most-valued footballer and fifth among Nigeria’s centre-forwards. The 23-year-old is also the most valuable player at Lorient.

Another Nigerian international who enjoys an increase in his value is Henry Onyekuru. After a forgettable spell in Greece, the 25-year-old winger is back in Turkey, where he is pulling the attacking strings for Adana Demirspor.

On loan from Olympiakos, Onyekuru has accounted for four goals and two assists in 12 appearances

side of him that many do not know.

And his efforts have been rewarded with a market value of €6 million, the highest of any player at Adana Demirspor.

Despite scoring four goals and providing two assists in 11 Ligue 1 games, Nantes winger Simon Moses has dropped from a career-high value of €10 million to nine.

Moses is not the only Super Eagles star whose value has taken a hit.

West Brom centre-back Semi Ajayi now has a market value of €3.5 million, a drop from four.

Super Eagles captain and Sivasspor ace Ahmed Musa and vice-captain William Troost-Ekong (Watford) have also plunged to lows of 3 million euros apiece.

Watford goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has reaped the benefits of not being number at his club as his market worth decreases to €2.5 million.

Osimhen stays at number one

Despite the value adjustments, Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, however, remains Nigeria’s most valuable player at €65 million.

The 23-year-old goal-king also retains his soot at number one in Napoli, sixth in Serie A and eighth among the centre-forwards in the world.
