A Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Transparency and Good Governance yesterday called on the Supreme Court to set aside the prior consequential order issued in respect of the Zamfara State 2019 election and declare the All Progressives Congress, APC, defacto and dejure winners of the Governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections.

The group’s position was made known yesterday by its national coordinator, Dr. Manzo Abubakar in a press briefing in Abuja.

According to Abubakar, the time has come when the Justices of the apex court should correct the wrongs for the good of the country as their judgment would be of reference in the future as their mistakes will not help the development of judiciary.

of Zamfara State, the Justices should forget about technicality but definitive steps that will help project justice and fairness as the court cannot afford to be given different judgments on similar matters.

“As the Supreme Court is prepared to rule on the appeal filled by the APC on Tuesday [today], the coalition is appealing for a review of the prior ruling so that the apex court can do the needful in order to redeem its image and give justice to whom justice is due,” Abubakar said.

Abubakar said the intra-party crisis in the APC has nothing to do with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and wondered why the court decided to award votes legally cast for APC to the opposition.
