Industry Ministry Signs 2026 Performance Pact To Boost Economic Growth

The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has signed a 2026 performance contract with its departments and agencies as part of efforts to accelerate industrial growth, expand trade, attract investment and strengthen accountability across the ministry.
The agreement was adopted at the end of the ministry’s two-day 2026 Management Retreat in Abuja, where senior management officials, heads of agencies, development partners and other stakeholders also endorsed a communiqué outlining an implementation roadmap for the coming year.
According to the communiqué issued by the ministry’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Augustina Obilor-Duru, the retreat reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to accountability and economic transformation through a strategic performance contract covering all departments, directorates and agencies under its supervision.
The retreat, themed “From Policy to Performance: Driving Industrial Growth, Trade Expansion and Investment Outcomes,” focused on translating government policies into measurable economic results.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, described the retreat as an important platform for strategic reflection and collaboration, while commending participants for their contributions throughout the exercise.

Oduwole said the ministry occupies a central position in Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda through its responsibility for promoting industrial development, expanding trade, attracting investments and creating jobs.

She said the performance contract demonstrates the ministry’s commitment to accountability, results-oriented governance and effective implementation of priority programmes.

According to the minister, stronger coordination among departments, agencies and stakeholders will be critical to translating government policies into tangible economic outcomes capable of improving livelihoods.
