President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a private visit to France, as confirmed by a statement from Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale. The President is expected to return in the first week of February.
The departure comes following President Tinubu’s engagement with a delegation from Master Card on an official visit. In attendance during this meeting were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, as well as Ministers of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, Health Ali Pate, and Art, Culture, and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa.
While President Tinubu is away, the statement did not specify the nature or purpose of his private visit to France. The President’s visit to France coincides with recent high-level engagements, including a bilateral talk with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during his four-nation Africa tour on Tuesday.
Details regarding the agenda of Tinubu’s private visit remain undisclosed, and the President is anticipated to resume official duties upon his return in early February.
