LEADERSHIP Newspapers’ 17th Conference and Awards will take place on April 8, 2025, at the Banquet Hall in Abuja, focusing on the theme: “The Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria’s Fiscal Federalism.”
The event will address key issues such as revenue allocation, resource control, and fiscal decentralisation among Nigeria’s federal, state, and local governments, aiming to foster a better understanding of the financial relationship between these tiers of government.
A major highlight of the conference will be the keynote speech delivered by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who will outline the government’s fiscal reform strategies and its vision for promoting equitable development across the country. His address is expected to offer insights into the administration’s approach to creating a more balanced fiscal framework, ensuring sustainable economic growth and reducing regional disparities.
The conference will provide a platform for stakeholders from various sectors to engage in meaningful discussions on how Nigeria’s fiscal system can be restructured to enhance governance and foster economic growth. These discussions are expected to lead to actionable recommendations for improving the financial autonomy of sub-national governments and promoting a more inclusive national development agenda.
In addition to the conference sessions, the event will feature the prestigious LEADERSHIP Awards, recognising individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to Nigeria’s development and governance. This segment of the event will celebrate excellence in leadership and acknowledge the impactful efforts of those advancing national progress.
By bringing together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders, the LEADERSHIP’s 17th Conference and Awards promises to play a key role in shaping the future of Nigeria’s fiscal policy. The discussions and recommendations from the event are expected to contribute to the formulation of policies that will drive equitable growth and strengthen the country’s fiscal framework.
This landmark gathering will serve as a critical platform for advancing the dialogue on Nigeria’s economic prosperity, ensuring that fiscal reforms are at the forefront of efforts to build a more robust and sustainable economy.
