Super Falcons defender Oluwatosin Demehin, has successfully secured a contract extension with Turkish women’s football club Galatasaray. This news comes as a significant boost for the club and its fans, as Demehin has quickly established herself as a formidable presence on the pitch.
Demehin, who made her move to the Istanbul giants on a free transfer in September 2024, initially signed a one-year deal. However, following a commendable first season with the club, the management has recognised her contributions and opted to extend her contract for an additional season, keeping her at Galatasaray until at least 2025.
The 23-year-old centre-back has made a remarkable impact during her inaugural season, featuring prominently in 26 matches across all competitions. Her defensive prowess and skill were complemented by her offensive contributions, as she netted one goal during the season. Her ability to seamlessly integrate into the team and her strong work ethic have not gone unnoticed, and she has quickly become a fan favourite.
Notably, Demehin was also an integral member of Nigeria’s national team squad that clinched victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in July. This prestigious win further solidified her reputation within the realm of women’s football, showcasing her talent on an international stage and inspiring young athletes back home in Nigeria and beyond.

Demehin’s journey with Galatasaray is poised to continue as she strives to build on her achievements and contribute to the club’s ambitions in both domestic and European competitions. With her talent, determination, and the recent contract extension, the future looks bright for this rising star of women’s football. Fans eagerly await her performances in the upcoming season, hoping to see more of her stellar displays and contributions to the team’s success.
