Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, President of the France-Nigeria Business Council (FNBC), has called for deeper economic collaboration between Nigeria and France, citing the growing ties between the two nations under President Emmanuel Macron’s leadership.
Aig-Imoukhuede made the call at the inauguration of Zenith Bank’s operations in Paris, an event attended by key Nigerian business leaders. He commended Macron’s efforts to facilitate Nigerian banks’ entry into France, noting that Zenith Bank’s recent launch in Paris marks a significant milestone in Nigeria-France relations.
Reflecting on the event’s significance, Aig-Imoukhuede praised the role of Nigerian banks in expanding into Europe, a feat that took decades for other countries to achieve. He also highlighted the potential for continued growth in key sectors such as energy, technology, and sustainable development.
During the event, business leaders from both nations, including Aliko Dangote and Roosevelt Ogbonna, discussed new opportunities for collaboration, with Aig-Imoukhuede emphasizing the need for France to engage more with Nigeria as it becomes a global economic force.
