The price of a 50-kilogram bag of cement in the Federal Capital Territory has skyrocketed to between N10,000 and N15,000.
A recent market survey conducted by NATIONAL ECONOMY across areas like Gwarimpa, Area 10, Kubwa, Lugbe, and Dawaki revealed that Dangote cement is priced at N10,000 per bag, while BUA cement is being sold at N15,000.
Christopher a retailer in Gwagwalada, lamented the sharp increase, noting that just last month, he was selling a bag of cement for N7,000.
“We sell Dangote cement at N10,000 per bag, and BUA is N15,000. Unfortunately, it will surprise you that I sold the same bag of cement, N5,500 to N6,000, last month,” he stated.
Similarly, Muyiwa Olaitan, another retailer in Gudu, reported that Dangote cement is now priced at N10,200, while BUA sells for N16,000 per bag.
Retailers in Lugbe confirmed to Jahi confirmed that Dangote and BUA cement prices are N10,000 and N15,000, respectively.
